My rant on Georgia Power's $2.1 Billion Rate Increase Approval http://bit.ly/fhyuqy
Southern Co. Gets $2.1 Billion Rate Increase Approval

I haven't had my chance to rant about the Georgia Public Service Commission's approval of the 3 year rate increase for Georgia Power. At this point I'm tiffed with utilities with their hands constantly out to pay for company growth. Building new nuclear reactors and power lines is going to cost you money. So like everyone else you need to put the money aside and build when you can afford it. The cost to grow your company should not be passed along to your customers. Georgia Power is being run like our federal government.

The Georgia Public Service Commission is in Georgia Power's back pocket. Their should be some type of investigation of the continuous multi-year increases as I suspect actions are likely Criminal.

I highly doubt that energy sales are slumping as we have had one of the hottest summers on record and now one of the coldest falls and winters. Georgia Power it's time for you to cut your profit margins and find ways to run a more effective and efficient business instead of running with your hands out. We didn't ask to replace all the power meters in Georgia with smart meters but I'm pretty sure that we all paid for them.

It's time now for consumers to get smart and look into alternative energy sources because this trend is likely to continue. Hopefully the price of Solar and Wind energy will become more affordable.

Why doesn't Google TV support Google Voice and Chat?

Am I the only one who has the question as to why the new Google TV does not support Google Voice and Chat out of the box? It currently only supports Logitech Vid™ accounts.  Is this purposeful  launch partner omission.

The new Cisco Umi interestingly enough supports Video Chat out of the box.

Why Google? You usually hit home runs when you're up to bat.  Will we see Google Voice and Chat on non-Logitech branded GoogleTV Units?

Incase Snap Case for iPhone 4 Review

This was my choice in the free iPhone 4 Case Program of 2010. I've used a  Incase cases for my iPod touch and iPad ,so I thought this would be a natural progression to also use them for my iPhone.

I took the case out of the box and though "Meh" as soon as I touched it. It has a slippery hard plastic feel to it and it felt like glue or some type of adhesive was on the back of it.  I'm sure that it was fresh off the assembly line in China and went straight to Fedex.  The stand feature was very neat but it's an added product that I will probably lose before I actually need to use it.  Incase should make a case with a built in two position kickstand.

While I waited  for the case to arrive; I  picked up 2 cases from the Lenox Square Mall.  Both provide more coverage and grip than the Incase.  I prefer the Rubber Case over hard plastic.

Cocoon Gramercy iPad Messenger Sling Review http://bit.ly/bJ4HHF
Cocoon Gramercy iPad Messenger Sling

I got it in the mail this morning and I like it alot.

I'll be going to Europe soon and I'm not taking a backpack with me anymore.  A few months ago this revolutionary computing project called the ipad came about and the need for carrying a laptop around is not really necessary.  Not only can it hold my iPad but all the stuff that I need to carry around to sightsee for a whole day.

Here are some more shots of it.

Grid Organizer Example

iPod Touch , iPad, and Grid-It System Inside

Stuff : Starting at noon and going clockwise
(Sony Cybershot, iPad Power Adapter, Headphones, Extra Blackberry Battery,Orbit Gum,
Extra Memory Sticks, Ink Pen, Extra Camera Batteries, Portable Battery Tips
Portable Battery)

Storage in the back for a Slim Umbrella and Toiletries

The straps are strong and it's well designed and doesn't look like a purse :-)

Go out and get one.

Amahi Media Server

Could this be a Windows Home Server Killer?

http://www.amahi.org

Overview
The Amahi Linux Home Server makes your home networking simple. We like to call the Amahi servers HDAs, for "Home Digital Assistants." Each HDA delivers all the functionality you would want in a home server, while being as easy to use as a web browser.

The core functionality available in the base Amahi HDA install includes:

Protect Your Computers Backup all your networked PCs simply and easily on your home network. If one of your PCs "dies" you can easily restore it!
Organize Your Files Access, share and search your files from any machine on your network, making it easy to share and find your photos, music and videos.
Internet Wide Access Automatically setup your own VPN so you can access your network from anywhere: safely and securely.
Private Internet Applications Shared applications like calendaring, private wiki and more to come, will help you manage your home and your family!

What would be perfect if Amahi incorporated Mythtv and home automation software. You know my love-hate relationship with Linuxmce by now.

The Amahi server functions as an backend with all the tuners and storage. Any computer on the network could view recordings and could record television if it has a tv tuner.

UMA on Android

Google if you're listening. My wish for android this year is a UMA implementation. This is the killer feature seperating android and the iphone other than multitouch.
Is Steve Jobs The Anti-Christ?

* "sitting in the temple" - 1 Infinite Loop
*opposing himself against anything that is worshiped
*claiming divine authority Some would argue that the iPhone is the "Jesus Phone"
* working all kinds of counterfeit miracles and signs
* doing all kinds of evil - Trying to put the following companies out of business: microsoft, google, amazon, adobe, nokia, rim, lg, roku, nintendo, hitachi... the list goes on.

I'm just saying.
